TAMPA -- A suspicious device left near a Boston Market restaurant at 2708 W. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Tampa was a utility monitoring device, Tampa Police reported.
Eastbound and westbound lanes of W. Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd. at Habana Avenue were shut down for nearly an hour as police investigated the device.
There was no danger to the surrounding area and all roadways are open to normal traffic.
According to police, the utility monitoring device was left behind following a TECO Energy maintenance job at the scene.
