ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- A 45-year-old man is charged in the deadly crash on southbound Interstate 275 coming into downtown St. Petersburg.
Deputies say Malo Blackshear, 45, was driving south at a high speed on I-275 when he crashed into the rear of another vehicle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31. The highway since has reopened to traffic.
The driver of the second vehicle was unable to keep control of her car. Her 27-year-old female passenger died at the scene.
Deputies suspect Blackshear was drunk at the time of the crash. He's been charged with DUI manslaughter.
