State Road 60 is back open after a SUV rear ended a school bus in Dover Wednesday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol says a Buick Rendezvous was behind the bus heading west on SR 60 just west of Jerry Smith Road when its driver failed to see the bus had stopped and rear ended it. Troopers noted there were about 115 feet of skid marks from the Buick to the back of the bus.
The bus did have all its emergency equipment activated picking up children in front of The Palms at Dover neighborhood.
The driver of the Buick, Luis Nieves Resto, was taken to Tampa General Hospital. His passengers, 7-year-old Victoria Nieves and 43-year-old Omyra Freciano, were also taken to Tampa General Hospital. All three were wearing seatbelts and it appears they are going to be okay.
The kids on the bus were checked out by emergency crews at the scene.
