HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. -- All southbound lanes of I-75 have been reopened following a fatal crash that killed a tow truck driver shortly after 4:00 AM on Oct. 9, 2016, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
The Florida Highway Patrol had pulled over three vehicles that had been illegally racing in the area and the tow truck was in the process of towing the vehicles when the crash happened. The driver struck the tow truck driver and the tow truck, causing fatal injuries to the tow truck driver.
FHP have arrested the driver of the vehicle, now being identified as 44-year-old Gregory Miller, for DUI Manslaughter and property damage. The victim of the crash is being identified as 48-year-old Troy Eugene McGuire.
