Two St. Petersburg men have been arrested as part of "Operation Noble Shepherd," a multi-agency effort targeting child sex trafficking.
Claude Ramsey, 36, 3700 9th Ave. N., and Jose Antonio Tapia-Mora, 58, 480 31st St. N., were arrested Thursday.
According to an arrest affidavit, Ramsey engaged in text messaging with a Homeland Security agent requesting sex with a 14-year-old for $160. The agent arranged a meeting with the suspect, and he was arrested.
Another affidavit said Tapia-Mora also communicated with a Homeland Security agent and a meeting was arranged, but the suspect did not show up. Another meeting was arranged and this time the suspect showed up, the affidavit said.
The affidavits said both men had money with them when arrested.
Bail was set at $60,000 for Ramsey and $70,000 for Tapia-Mora.
The operation included the Largo and Clearwater police departments and the Department of Homeland Security.
