Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety John Lynch will lead the team onto the field Thursday before he is inducted into the Ring of Honor.

Lynch, a 2016 Half of Fame finalist, will become the ninth member of the Ring of Honor during a halftime ceremony.

The Bucs play the Atlanta Falcons at Raymond James Stadium in a nationally televised game on Thursday.

According to, Lynch earned nine Pro Bowl selections and was also named to four Associated Press All-Pro teams. He had 1,277 tackles, 100 passes defensed, 26 interceptions, 16 forced fumbles, 13 sacks and eight fumble recoveries. In his 12 postseason games, he had 71 tackles, 12 passes defensed and two interceptions.

Other members of the Ring of Honor are: Hall of Fame defensive end Lee Roy Selmon, former Head Coach John McKay, former Pro Bowl tight end Jimmie Giles, former All-Pro tackle Paul Gruber, Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp, Hall of Fame linebacker Derrick Brooks, former All-Pro fullback Mike Alstott and former quarterback Doug Williams.
