From businesses to buildings, if it’s a cool place in Tampa, Austin Clark wants to post it on the Hidden Tampa Instagram account.

Clark is apart of the growing community on Instagram that is dedicated to showing off and promoting Tampa Bay.

“I think you have to love the place that you live in to really invest in it the way that we're doing, Clark said. "The way that I think the community is starting to do as well.”

Clark and a friend started Hidden Tampa in 2015. He now runs it by himself and has accumulated 39,392 followers.

"I don't think we expected it to be as big of a (game) changer in the community like we are," Clark said. "Now most people know about the account, if they don't, when they hear about it they go and follow us almost immediately.”

While there are some perks that come along with running the account, like invites to try new restaurants, he receives no compensation for promoting these businesses. For him, it’s a way to help show off a city he loves, “I've grown up here, I've seen how it's changed, and I've seen so many cool things that have come into here, it's really starting to feel like Tampa is starting to become its own really unique place.”

Lots of work goes into running Hidden Tampa, but Clark isn’t the sole contributor of content. He estimates 80 percent of the photos he posts are submitted by his followers.

If you know of a neat place in Tampa, or have a picture you wish to share, upload it to Instagram and use the #HiddenTampa.
