The 14th named storm of the hurricane season, Nicole has strengthened to become a hurricane but is expected to stay in the Atlantic Ocean, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami.

As of 2:00 p.m. Thursday Nicole is located 345 miles south of Bermuda and 620 miles north of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
