UPDATE: Gov. Rick Scott has ordered that all K-12 schools, state colleges and universities to close until Monday.
TAMPA -- Some county schools are making the decision to close due to possible weather issues from Hurricane Irma.
The following counties that have decided to close:
The University of South Florida will close from Thursday until Monday.
Hillsborough Community College will close from Thursday until Sunday.
Keiser University's Clearwater and Tampa campuses will close from Thursday until Monday. Keiser's Lakeland, New Port Richey and Sarasota campuses will close from Friday until Tuesday. The closures include online and graduate classes.
Florida Polytechnic University has suspended classes in preparation for severe weather brought on by Hurricane Irma. The university will close campus from Thursday at 5 p.m. through Tuesday morning, at the earliest.
Stetson University College of Law has cancelled classes from Thursday until Sunday. The Gulfport and Tampa campuses will close at noon on Thursday.
Pasco-Hernando State College will be closed Thursday through Monday.
St. Petersburg College will be closed Thursday through Sunday.
Florida Atlantic University will be closed from Thursday until Sunday.
Florida Gulf Coast University will be closed from Thursday until Sunday.
Florida International University will be closed from Thursday until Sunday.
The University of Florida will be closed from Friday until Monday.
The University of Central Florida is closed between Thursday and Monday.
The University of North Florida is closed from Friday until Monday.
Highlands County schools will be closed Friday and Monday.
Hillsborough County school district announced on Twitter on Wednesday that school will be closed Thursday and Friday.
Land of Learning Academy announced in an email that they will be closed Thursday and Friday.
The Patel Conservatory has canceled all classes and events through Sunday.
Schools will be closed Thursday and Friday, Sept. 7th and 8th.

Pasco-Hernando State college canceled classes Thursday and Friday and Berkeley Preparatory School will be closed Thursday, Friday, and Monday.
Superintendent Greene announced Wednesday Manatee District Schools will be open Thursday, but closed on Friday.
Pasco County Schools will be closed Friday because of Hurricane Irma.
Pasco-Hernando State College will be closed through Tuesday.
Pinellas County Schools will be closed Thursday and Friday because of Hurricane Irma.
All elementary and middle school child care programs at the St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation centers are canceled for this Thursday and Friday.
Shorecrest Preparatory School will be closed Thursday until Monday.
Polk County Schools announced on Facebook the district will close Friday and Monday.

Sarasota County Schools will close Friday because of Hurricane Irma.
Classes will be on early dismissal Friday and will be dismissed at around 12:20 p.m. for elementary schools and 1:20 p.m. for secondary schools. School has been canceled for Monday, Sept. 11.
