Hey there, sports fans! I'm back in here in my hometown ready to cover all of the teams I loved to watch while growing up. I attended Clearwater High School and USF.
I got interested in TV, quite honestly, because I wanted to go to all of my favorite team's sporting events for free! It just so happened that I ended up falling in love with this job and look forward to telling some awesome sports stories here in Tampa Bay.
My last stop before 10 News was KOTV (CBS) in Tulsa, Okla. I covered four college football, baseball and basketball teams, the NCAA tournament and PGA golf. I wasn't too fond of the weather there. I saw 24 inches of snow in one winter, along with wild fires, tornados, earthquakes and locusts. Just kidding about the locusts. I was there from 2009 until the summer of 2012.
Before that I worked at KADN, (FOX) in Lafayette, La. I learned all about delicious Cajun food there. Pretty cool place...
I can't wait to get to the Trop, Ray Jay and Forum and start covering all of the great teams in town. I did a lot of work with high school sports at my past stations and expect to continue that here as well. Every day is fun and unique in this job and that's what makes it so fun.
When I am not working you will probably find me at home with my wife, Juslin, and our young daughter, Ava. We love the beach and I love to golf. My life's goal: break 80. I'd love to hear from the sports fans in Tampa Bay. Email me here at the station with your story ideas or find me at Facebook or Twitter.com/Bobby_L
