I began with a simple question:
“Does anybody want to be on TV one day?”
Every little hand in the room shot towards the sky.
Giggles ensued and the Great American Teach-In was on. It’s a day that gives professionals a chance to visit kids at their schools and share some experiences from the job world.
For me, that meant sharing stories from my ‘On The Road’ segment with the 3rd-graders at Brooker Creek Elementary School in Tarpon Springs.
I tried to give the eight and 9-year olds the 'On The Road' experience. I showed one student how to operate the camera. I a young girl a few pointers when it came to asking good interview questions. I even showed them a few stories that I’ve done while at 10News WTSP.
One after one, students got a chance to interview me. Questions ranged from ‘What’s your favorite color?’ to ‘Have you ever been to Mexico?’.
Watch ‘On The Road’ stories weeknights at 5:30 on 10News WTSP.
