Tampa, Florida -- In just about two weeks, some of Bollywood's brightest stars will be rolling into the Bay area.
The International Indian Film Academy Awards will officially welcome guests starting April 23rd, and at just a few weeks out, Tampa hot spots are already gearing up.
It's through the sliding glass doors at Tampa International Airport's temporary parking lot the biggest names in Bollywood will get their first glimpse of the green carpet and their adoring fans.
On one side: international superstars will see their diehard followers. On the other, they'll hear the cat calls from paparazzi trying to get that perfect shot.
Finally way in the back, there will be a massive stage with dancers on one side and Bollywood clips being played for a reception fit for a star.
Right now though, "it looks like your regular parking garage level," said TIA spokeswoman Emily Nipps.
But in two weeks, the top of temp parking at TIA will be completely transformed to accommodate award-season crowds.
"The Indian Film Awards are sort of like the Oscars times 100," she said.
And the transformation doesn't stop there. With more than 8,000 room-nights estimated to be booked for the event, Hilton Tampa Downtown General Manager Nabil Salloum says preparations are already underway.
"You know the excitement is building," he said, adding the Hilton is bringing on an Indian culinary team, more security, makeup artists, massage therapists, dry cleaning services, trying to anticipate the needs of any high-profile guest.
"Those stars are going to be demanding and they're going to be needing a lot of attention last minute and we need to be prepared for it," he said.
So when International Indian Film Academy Award guests finally leave the fanfare at the airport and get to the hotel, they'll be sitting in the lap of luxury.
