(USA Today) There will be one less gladiator fixing problems with Olivia Pope on Scandal next season.
Actor Columbus Short, who plays Harrison Wright on the hit ABC drama, will not be returning to the show next season, Entertainment Weekly reports.
The actor released a statement announcing his departure in which he thanked series creato rShonda Rhimes for the opportunity.
"Everything must come to an end," the statement continued. "And unfortunately, the time has come for Harrison Wright to exit the canvas. I wish nothing but the best for Shonda, Kerry and the rest of the cast, who have become like a second family to me in such a short amount of time. For this, I will forever be grateful."
Short has been dealing with personal legal problems recently, and has been charged with felony battery.
Harrison's fate was left uncertain in Scandal's season finale. The show has dealt with a between seasons departure before, when Henry Ian Cusick, who played Stephen Finch, left after the first season.
