Cathy Salustri’s book, "Backroads of Paradise: A Journey to Rediscover Old Florida", divulges a quilt of Florida cultures.
The roads of the 1930’s have now become the state’s back roads that are only known to local residents, a few commuters, and dedicated road-trippers. In Sulustri’s 5,000-mile road trip, she discovers an array of lost history including the state’s only whitewater rapids, a dazzling collection of springs, and even the Sunshine State’s version of Bigfoot, called the "skunk ape".
