You don’t have to go to a galaxy far, far away to be in the presence of Han Solo. No Harrison Ford, but you can see his iconic Star Wars costume up close at the new exhibit at The Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg. The museum partnered with the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service and Lucasfilm to bring Star Wars™ and the Power of Costume. The exhibit opened to the public on Monday, November 13 and will remain at the Museum of Fine Arts through April 1, 2018.
Jorge Vidal is the Star Wars and the Power of Costume Project Manager at the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg, and he joined Great Day Tampa Bay to give our audience details on what to expect.
Presenting more than 60 of the finest hand-crafted costumes from the first seven films in the Star Wars series, the exhibition uncovers the challenges, the intricate processes and the remarkable artistry of George Lucas, the concept artists and costume designers. Tickets and additional information are available at mfastpete.org.
