Knitters wanted to make caps for Tampa Bay newborns

TAMPA -- Do you knit or know anyone who does? Then the American Heart Association is looking for you.

They’re looking for volunteers to knit caps for babies born in February, as part of their “Little Hats, Big Hearts” campaign. Several hospitals in the Tampa Bay area are participating.  The idea is to empower moms to live heart-healthy lives and to help their children do the same.

Organizers are asking for red cotton or acrylic caps that are machine washable and dryable. There are several patterns on the heart association’s website that you can choose from.
