Firefighter climbs stair machine to honor his fallen comrades

MARYVILLE, TN-- A photo snapped by a Planet Fitness employee in Tennessee has quickly gone viral on Facebook, and with good reason.

Lezlie Bauler said a man walked into her gym and asked if he could climb 110 sets of stairs, fully suited, in honor of his fallen brothers and sisters of 9/11.

Bauler wrote, "I am not one to get emotional, but a few tears were shed. Thank you for your services."

That post has received more than 60,000 shares.

The firefighter, Mr. Jason Harding, spoke with WBIR about his show of support on September 11th, saying the outpouring of support and gratitude he's seen brought him to tears. He said he was not doing it for self-recognition, but for the fallen heroes and families affected by the events of 15 years ago.
