No one is going to hit the "like" button for a storm, but the National Hurricane Center is winning plenty of fans in the world of social media.

Last year the center jumped into the worlds of Facebook and Twitter by creating its own pages.  These are not the best places to find the latest storm forecasts and warnings.  For that, you're better off at the Hurricane Center's official website.

The center's Facebook and Twitter pages give  people the opportunity to learn more about tropical weather and hurricane preparedness and ask general questions.
