Tampa, Florida -- There's been a lot of talk about Michelle Williams' comments on a local radio show where she flung around racial epithets like "honky" "cracker" and "pink people."

After our original story aired, the 10 NEWS Investigators decided to look into Williams' background.
Michelle Williams, who was once known as Michelle Conyers, has had several run-ins with the law. She's been arrested on charges ranging from aggravated assault with a handgun to fraudulent use of personal information, fraudulent use of a credit card, petty theft, two counts of grand theft, two counts of forgery and exploitation of an elderly person.
She entered guilty pleas to several of the charges and was sentenced to restitution and probation, which she completed successfully. Williams hasn't been involved with the court system since 2005.

Interestingly enough, we also heard from several people in the African-American community who tell us this so-called "community activist" doesn't speak for them and they are not pleased with what she had to say.
We talked to her by phone:
Williams: Either you're going to move forward or you're going to keep being that screw-up. Well guess what? I wanted to move forward.
Mike: What about those in the African-American community who contacted me and said she is not representative of us?
Williams: Hey, you know what Mike? They're absolutely right; I don't represent them. The class of people I represent are the voiceless. But you're right I don't speak for those sheep. They can stay where they're at in the damn pastures.
Clearly Michelle Williams is not a mainstream African-American leader or spokesperson, and she just doesn't care. She says she's an equal opportunity activist and is equally hard on every race.
However, those who contacted me wanted to make sure people know that many in the African- American community do not support Williams or agree with her views.
