TAMPA, Fla. -- There was a major shake-up in the Hillsborough Property Appraiser's Office today.
The H.R. director was fired from her close to $100,000/year job for making false allegations in an EEOC investigation.
A spokesperson for property appraiser Rob Turner says Turner made the mistake of dating the H.R. Director, Carolyn Filippone, when both were single and he first was elected property appraiser.
He admits they exchanged texts on their private phones as well.
After Turner met his current wife, he stopped dating Filippone and she complained to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission that Turner was retaliating against her.
The EEOC found none of the charges were true and Turner says he had to fire her for lying to a federal agency.
