1 Million L.E.D. light bulbs used in "Holiday Lights in the Gardens"

"Holiday Lights in the Gardens" fundraiser for Botanical Gardens

Over one million LED light bulbs light up nearly 15 acres of the Florida Botanical Gardens.

"Holiday Lights in the Gardens" is a fan-favorite. It's also one of the Garden's biggest fundraisers of the year.

"Due to budget constraints within the county the (Florida Botanical Gardens) foundation has stepped up to fund most of the major projects that occur in the garden and this holiday light special is how we raise that money," said the Richard Berube, the Vice President of the Florida Botanical Gardens Foundation.

It takes a team of 400-500 volunteers to make this light display happen. The planning began last January.

There are performances, food and of course Santa Clause.

Holiday Lights in the Gardens is open nightly, from 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm through December 31. They will be open for Christmas and it is a $4 donation to get in.
