10News and McDonald's give out festive fast food

10News Brightside anchors Courtney Curtis and Rob Finnerty gave out some free meals at McDonald's.

Clearwater, Fla - The grill is hot, the hash browns are down, and hands are flying. Welcome to the morning rush at McDonald’s.

On this day, customers are greeted at the drive-through window by some familiar faces.

“We're going to get your order ready," said 10News Brightside anchor Courtney Curtis with a laugh. "I’m brand new here."

Fellow Brightside anchor Rob Finnerty gets in on the fun too—going a little overboard with the power of a headset.

“You are clear on runway one-niner, Clearwater McDonald’s—bring it in, bring it in,” he said while waving a car into place.

10News and McDonald’s teamed up to spread a little "McJoy to the Bay" by serving up some free breakfasts. Car after car, driver after driver—loving this seasonal surprise.

Among the responses: “Fantastic!”, “That makes my day!”, “That’s great. Merry Christmas."

The owner of this Clearwater McDonald's says Joy to the Bay is a way to super-size smiles.

“It’s a great thing to see their surprise,” Jennifer Prado said. “It’s a wonderful thing to do for our community and our customers—so we enjoy it.”

Even some pets get their cravings satisfied.

“Are these hash browns for Trixie?” Finnerty asked one driver with her dog leaning out the window.

“The sausage sandwich is,” she replied.

On a morning like this, brown paper bags hold hot fast food and some warm holiday wishes.

“Have a wonderful day,” Curtis said while handing out an order. “And Merry Christmas!”
