4-year-old Dozer looking for a forever home

This is Dozer, who is a 4-year-old, 48 lb pointer/retriever mix. He was rescued from a terrible, abusive hoarding situation in December in Pasco County Sleepy Hollow.

He is very shy and takes time to warm up to new people because of his past, but with the love and patience of his foster family, he has made amazing progress! He's very social, playful and affectionate with them, gets along great with other dogs and will be a loyal best friend to the family who adopts him. His new family will need to be understanding of what he has been through, go slow and be gentle, but all of the effort is worthwhile with this awesome dog!

Dozer is housebroken, and has all his shots, has been microchipped and neutered. He had heartworms when he was rescued, but was successfully treated and is ready to start his new life.

A fenced yard and home with no cats will be adoption requirements. Dozer is good with children who are over the age of 10.

He is currently living with a foster family. To make an appointment to meet him, please call the Suncoast Animal League office at 727-786-1330.
