Hillsborough County has free cat adoptions through the end of the week

TAMPA, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center is waiving fees for furry felines through the end of the week.

The county is eliminating all fees for cat adoption through Sunday, Dec. 3, to relieve overcrowding at the shelter.

Costs normally are $20 for ready-to-go for cats and kittens that have been spayed or neutered and microchipped, or $70 for preadoption.

“Pets are a long-term commitment, and finding the perfect dog or puppy, cat or kitten should be a joyful process handled together as a family,” the resource center said in a statement.

Go to the county’s website or to the resource center's Facebook page for more information.
