Retriever is looking for forever family

Philip, who has earned the nickname Prince Philip from our volunteers, is a 1 yr old retriever/hound mix who weighs about 50 lbs.

He's an awesome, happy-go-lucky young dog who's got a great heart and tons of lovable puppy energy! He needs to find an active family who will play with him and take him out for fun adventures. When he's inside, he wants to be by your side and just be part of the family.

He is crate trained and appears to be housebroken. He will need some additional training on basic commands and leash training, but he's smart and eager to learn. We're sure he will be a quick study for someone who has owned a big dog in the past. He just needs time and some patience.

Philip likes other dogs and children, but he's probably not a good match for a home with small kids due to his energy level. A fenced backyard will also be an adoption requirement.

He has been neutered, microchipped and is up-to-date on shots.

Meet Prince Philip at the Suncoast Animal League office at 1030 Pennsylvania Ave, Palm Harbor or call 727-786-1330 for more info about adopting or fostering him.
