Supermoon is beautiful, but could cause problems along Florida coast

Historic Supermoon lights up the sky

TAMPA- While the supermoon might be a treat to look at, it could cause some problems for parts of Florida's coast.

CBS12 in Palm Beach says the supermoon is actually causing them to put out a coastal flood advisory. This is because the moon's position as it relates to the earth, affects the tides and because this is the closest the moon has been in nearly 70 years, it could cause a few problems. But that won't take away from the beauty of the rare sight.

The supermoon is about 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than a normal full moon and we get the supermoon whenever the full moon happens at the same time as the "moon's perigee."

There won't be a chance to see another supermoon until 2034.
