BAYONET POINT, Fla. -- Pasco Co. deputies need your help to find a guy they say tried to cash fraudulent checks worth more than $12,000 Saturday morning.
They’re looking for Jose Ramos. They say at around 10:15am, he went into a Bank of America in New Port Richey and tried to cash a check worth $5200. The clerk was suspicious and didn't cash it.
Ramos then reportedly left and showed up at another Bank of America, this one ain Bayonet Point.. Deputies say there, he tried to cash a fraudulent check worth $7,400. When deputies responded, Ramos took off running.
They say he run eastbound on State Road 52 towards Highway 19.
Ramos is believed to be driving a black BMW, but they don’t know the model or the tag number. Bank employees say he was with an Hispanic woman who was also trying to cash fraudulent checks.
Detectives say Ramos has cashed fraudulent checks at other Bank of Americas in the area to the tune of $38,000.
