TAMPA, Fla. – A Tampa police officer helped save and rescue a couple’s dog in a two-alarm apartment fire on Monday afternoon.

By 4:10 p.m. Monday, Tampa firefighters controlled the fire at the Brookshire Townhomes.

The fire caused more than $400,000 in damage, according to Tampa Fire Rescue.
