Teen might have witnessed murder before disappearance

A missing Sarasota teen may have witnessed a homicide a week before his disappearance, according to newly released court documents.

WWSB reports an affidavit by Lucille Tillery, the grandmother and guardian of 14-year-old Jabez Spann, states Reginald Parker, 55, told her he had witnessed the killing of Travis Combs, 31.

Tillery also said Parker told her he saw Spann come out of a home and yelled, "Oh my God. Y'all shot him."

Parker, who is charged with being an accessory to murder, has pleaded not guilty and denies the conversation with Tillery took place.

Spann has been missing since Sept. 4. A $25,000 reward has been offered for information leading to his whereabouts.
