Seminole High student fulfills dream on football field

SEMINOLE, Fla. -- Friday night was a big game for the Seminole Warhawks. They went head to head with their rivals, the Osceola Warriors. You know how it is for rivalries - no holding back.

And that was certainly the case for senior Nate Wilson.

“I'm just proud to be a Warhawk,” he said.

It was the final game of the season and Nate's first game dressing out with the team.

“I always wanted to.”

But getting to this day wasn't easy.

“I'm pumped,” Nate said.

Nate, a triplet, was born prematurely. Complications at birth led to physical disabilities. But a lack of size didn't stop head coach Chris Miller from noticing him.

“I have two children of my own that were born early and I found out Nate loved football. He knows a lot about the game, and he became an honorary member of our team,” Miller said.

Now, the good friends eat lunch together each day. For Nate, when it comes to the football team one word comes to mind.

“Family,” Nate said.

The tiniest player playing his first game would even get his first shot on the field, adored by his fans.

“Let’s go Nate!” the crowd cheered.

In the end, Seminole lost the game to Osceola. But with Nate's help, the whole team has learned a lesson at winning in life.
