New app helps with July 4th savings

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Want an all-American way to save money on your Fourth of July cookout or getaway? There's a brand new tool that you can use right now. This online tool gets you the best prices using the free market. What's more American than that?

The savings program is called Invisible Hand. It's a free add-on to the regular web browser you already use when you shop online via Chrome, Firefox, or Safari. There's also an iPhone app.

Once you install it, you just shop like normal. Invisible Hand pops up if it discovers you could save money by shopping for the same thing on a different website.

We love saving you money here at 10 News.

Shop for a grill for that Fourth of July cookout on Amazon. If you're not getting the best price, Invisible Hand chimes in. A small bar appears at the top of the page directing you to the better deal. A gas grill we looked at on Amazon was $65 cheaper on

Invisible Hand also works for flights.

Let's fly to our nation's capital for Independence Day. While Orbitz searched for flights to Washington, DC's Dulles Airport, Invisible Hand also searched.

It turns out, Invisible Hand told us it found a flight for $113 less.

Or how about a staycation at the beach? There's a big race this July Fourth weekend in Daytona.

Search, and Invisible Hand pops up to show you coupons, including one for $20 off a three-night stay.

The folks who make the app say they've saved people more than a billion dollars so far.

If you want a piece of that savings, head here to the Invisible Hand website, where you can download the web browser extension and see videos of how it works.
