BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) — A Florida man is being sued by DC Comics for selling figurines that resemble Batman characters.

John Stacks started selling the resin kit figurines about a decade ago. He says they are made to resemble actors from the 1960s "Batman" television series, and that he's earned about $3,000 in sales.

The Bradenton resident says he has contracts from the actors and their families supporting his endeavor.

New York-based DC Comics is suing him for copyright and trademark infringement, among other violations. The company wants him to stop making and selling the figures and turn over his remaining inventory.

They're also requesting he pay three times the profits he's made or pay other damages.
