Lakeland, Florida - 52-year-old Joseph Ruba was riding his bicycle behind Tom's restaurant in Lakeland when he was attacked and beaten to death Saturday around 9 p.m.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office says 18-year-old Christopher Shane Decatur was with a group of friends outside the restaurant. Decatur and Ruba got into an argument. There is no word yet on what sparked it.
Investigators say Decatur, a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old started beating the man. A concerned citizen stopped the fight and called for medical help but Ruba died at the scene.
Detectives located the 15 and 17-year-old boys, who have been arrested and charged with second degree murder.
Authorities searched for Decatur for most of the day Sunday before he turned himself in later that evening. Investigators say he will be charged with second degree murder as well.
