Donald Schwarz is accused of driving his BMW under a plane and in front of another at Sun'n Fun.
Lakeland, Florida - Lakeland Police say they arrested a 29-year-old man for driving his BMW under a cargo plane and in front of Thunderbird jet at the Sun 'n Fun Fly in.
According to Lakeland Police, Officer Chad Whitaker was working at Sun and Fun Fly In at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport providing security for the Thunderbird F-16's. He allegedly saw Donald Schwarz drive the BMW onto the runway, under a USAF cargo airplane, and in front of a Thunderbird jet.
The area is fenced, and each point of entry is clearly posted with a sign that says, "Restricted Area, No Trespassing, Authorized Vehicles Only".
According to police, all gates to this area gates are secured by locks.
Officer Whitaker stopped the 2008 BMW. The officer says Schwarz was unable to explain how he was able to enter the fenced, secured perimeter of the area he was located in.
Police say Schwarz stated he was a volunteer at Sun and Fun, but was unable to provide credentials to verify this, and could not provide the name of the person/business he was working with.
He then went on to tell police he had come to see the Thunderbird jets.
Schwarz was placed under arrest for Trespass on Airport Property, and transported to Polk County Jail.
