TALLAHASSEE, Florida - Microsoft is teaming up with the state of Florida to offer free computer training to Floridians.
Gov. Charlie Crist announced the "Elevate America" program along with a representative of Microsoft on Monday.
The program will provide 40,000 vouchers that can be used to get free training for a variety of computer courses, ranging from basic to advanced.
Unemployment in Florida dropped last month for the first time in four years to 12 percent and while Gov. Crist says there's still a long way to go, he says efforts like this are helpful.
"I'm just pleased that everything we can possibly do we're trying to do in order to create more employment opportunities for our fellow Floridians."
You must apply for a voucher before August 21st to receive the free computer training.
