St. Pete Beach, Florida - A Bay area man says it his dream to get on the hit CBS show Survivor. Now he just needs your help to make his dream a reality.
"I've applied over a dozen times over the last 10 years and I've been fortunate to have several call backs and interviews. We've just progressed a little further this time and I'm hoping to get on," Captain Dave Winkler recently told 10 News.

CBS recently selected Winker and nine others from thousands of possible contestants for an online voting competition. Each possible contestant submitted a 60-second video and Winkler was picked as one of the finalists.
The public is now asked to watch the 10 finalists and vote for who they think should be on the show.

Voting runs through January 25.
A former professional water skier and one time triathlete, Winkler believes he would do well on the show.
"In my video I talk about high adventure, athleticism, how I think my maturity, youthfulness will benefit me in the game."
At 56 years old, he also believes some contestants might underestimate him, which would be to his advantage.
The owner of Captain Dave's Watersports Center on Blind Pass Road, Winkler also believes his experience being on the water and outdoors would make him a natural for the competition.
"I would be a provider. If we were anywhere near a reef or water, I'm going to figure out how to kill something."
Winkler says he feels good about his chances this time, given he's been close before. But he adds if he's not selected, he's certainly not about to give up.
"I'll keep trying until they make me stop."
