Sarasota Police arrest 11 'Johns' in prostitution sting

Sarasota, Florida -- Police say 11 men have been arrested in a series of undercover prostitution investigations.

The undercover operations took place at 42nd Street and N. Tamiami Trail and the 600 block of N. Washington Blvd on January 15.

Police say 11 men were arrested, and face a total of 16 criminal charges. A 12th suspect fled from the scene in his vehicle and has so far eluded arrest. Officers have identified him and he also faces two felony driving charges and one misdemeanor charge.

Ten vehicles were also seized during the operation.

  • Steven Hooper, 11/07/53, Solicitation for Prostitution
  • Thomas Jacques, 10/16/41, Solicitation for Prostitution
  • Steven Chorba, 08/19/57, Solicitation for Prostitution
  • Probable Cause Affidavit completed for a 21-year old suspect that fled the scene, charges will include Solicitation for Prostitution, Fleeing to Elude & Driving While License Suspended - Habitual Offender
