Palm Harbor, Florida - Emergency crews worked a serious crash in Palm Harbor on U.S. 19 at Citrus Drive on Tuesday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol will lead the investigation and the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is assisting with traffic control. All northbound and southbound lanes have traffic have now reopened.

The FHP says a Pontiac 6.0 was traveling northbound on US 19 at a high rate of speed when a Toyota Highlander turned north from Romeo Boulevard. The front of the Pontiac struck the left side of the Toyota, pushing the Toyota into the northbound lanes of US 19. The Pontiac then continued onto the outside east shoulder and struck a light pole, which promptly fell into the roadway.
Three people were flown to Bayfront Medical Center, one person was transported by ground to St. Joseph's Hospital and one person was transported by ground to Bayfront.
US 19 was closed for more than an hour, but has now reopened to all traffic.
