Clearwater, FL -- Metropolitan Ministries is teaming up with Pinellas Safe Harbor to feed more of the Bay area's homeless. The Tampa-based non-profit will help provide meals Wednesday through Sunday totalling about $300,000 in food each year.
St. Petersburg Mayor Bill Foster hopes other corporate, civic, and faith-based groups will also want to donate meals.
The shelter opened earlier this year with 250 beds and was formerly a Pinellas jail. The money saved on the meals will be used for other services for the homeless.
