Largo, Florida - Pinellas deputies are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and one woman injured. The shooting occurred at about 3:13 Saturday morning.
According to detectives, Olester Clemons, Ericka Satchell, and Jimmie Ray Hickman had gone out on Friday evening. The three later returned to the home of the suspect located at 6557 Marlberry Lane in unincorporated Largo.
Detectives say sometime during the night, a fight broke out between Hickman and Clemons which resulted in Clemons being shot and Satchell receiving an abrasion wound.
30-year-old Clemons was transported to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries. 20-year-old Satchell was also transported to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Clemons died at the hospital of injuries sustained during the shooting. Satchell was treated for the wound and was later released.
Detectives say Hickman remained on scene when deputies arrived and was arrested for one-count second degree murder and one-count attempted murder. He was subsequently transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.
The investigation continues.
