Tuesday was the first full day the seven women and five men on the jury deliberated the evidence, after the prosecution concluded its rebuttal closing argument Monday afternoon.

Judge Belvin Perry read jurors their instructions and made several points on the charges facing the 25-year-old Anthony before sending them out.

Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the 2008 death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. If convicted of that charge, she could face a death sentence. She's also charged with aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter and four counts of lying to law enforcement.

Court spokeswoman Karen Levey addressed the media to discuss the procedure once the jury reaches a verdict Tuesday morning.

Levey said if Anthony is convicted of first-degree murder, the penalty phase will begin 48 hours after the verdict is read.

Court clerk Karen Delpilar will read the verdict, Levey said.
