SALISBURY - Police in Salisbury say a driver who was stopped for having tinted windows ended the night with drug charges after they saw crack fall from his pants and watched him eat it in front of them.
According to police, Salisbury's Police Interdiction Team stopped the vehicle of 31-year-old Kenneth Dwayne Swann Thursday night along Green Street at the dead end.
Officer's say Swann was pullled over for having tinted windows in his vehicle, but when he stepped out of the car, officers noticed him walked stiffly. Thats when police say a small bag of crack cocaine fell out of his undershorts.
That's when officers say Swann "bent down, grabbed it and ate the crack."
Officers say they were unable to get the crack out of Swann's mouth before he swallowed it. He was searched and officers say they found another baggie with 3 grams of crack in his shorts.
Officers also found 57 Oxycodone pills and $223 in cash inside Swann's car.
Swann was charged with Trafficking opiates by possession and by transport, Possession with Intent to sell and Deliver Sch.II, Maintaining a vehicle for selling a controlled substance, Resisting a public officer and Driving while license revoked.
He was booked in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $125,00.00 bond.
