COVINA (CBS) - Authorities say three people were arrested and more than $250,000 in counterfeit iPhone parts seized in Covina, Walnut and Rowland Heights.
The bust occurred in five separate locations Thursday. Officials said they recovered counterfeit iPhone rear panels, phone chargers and phone covers with a street value of a quarter of a million dollars.
Detective Kay Budge, in a statement, said that an investigation that was conducted over three months led to the suspects, two men and one woman.
The phony iPhone parts were allegedly sold on various Internet sites.
Apple cooperated in the investigation, according to officials.
Budge and the investigation team allege the counterfeit parts were being imported from China.
The three suspects were booked on suspicion of possessing known counterfeit parts with the intent to sell to the public.
The suspects names were withheld due to the on-going investigation, said Budge.
Each of the suspects is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
