Tampa, FL -- Mayor Bob Buckhorn and Police Chief Jane Castor have announced a new city ordinance to help enforce the zero tolerance policy against open containers at Gasparilla this year.

According to Tampa Police, the new ordinance allows officers to issue citations for open containers instead of arresting people drinking alcohol outside the designated wet zones.

If you are caught with an open container outside authorized areas, you will receive a $75 citation for the first offense, $150 for second, $300 for third and $450 for fourth offense.
