Clearwater Beach, Florida -- The luckiest waitress on Clearwater Beach has won $1 million in the Florida Lottery.
Alexandra Chaar, 21, of Clearwater, claimed the top prize in the Monopoly Scratch Off game. She bought her ticket at the Food Mart at 601 Mandalay Avenue on the north beach.
Chaar, who is also a college student, said she was feeling lucky lately, and began buying the Lottery Scratch-Off tickets.
"I kept going back to the same store to buy them, the people who work there got to know me," Chaar said. "They said that up to this point, their store had never had any big winners, but I just had this lucky feeling."
She chose to take her winnings as a lump sum - about $700,000. She said she would use the money to pay for tuition, but intends to keep her job as a waitress.
