PORT ST. LUCIE, Florida (CBS12) -- There was no love lost when an impatient driver sped through a school crossing, honking her horn and then confronting a traffic control officer at Renaissance Charter School, according to Port St. Lucie Police.
According to the traffic control officer's incident report, a blue Infinity driven by Lovey Lakee Love, 34, was traveling an estimated 45 mph in a 20 mph school zone, honking her car horn Tuesday morning.
The crossing at 300 NW Cashmere Blvd. had the officer's patrol vehicle with its lights on and flashing school crossing signs. A group of children were waiting to cross when Love drove through, with the officer yelling at her to slow down.
Love allegedly pulled over after driving through the intersection, exited her car and approached the officer and the children, demanding the officer's name.
Love refused numerous orders to return to her vehicle and was arrested on charges of reckless driving, failure to change address on registration within 20 days of moving from Delaware, and refusing to obey a lawful order. She also was cited for improper use of a horn and not providing proof of insurance.
