St. Petersburg, Florida --  It's a busy day for florists!  If you haven't ordered flowers for your main squeeze, it's not too late.  While some florists are no longer taking delivery orders, Green Bench Flowers in downtown St. Pete says if you can get the order in this morning, you'll be in good shape.

Your best bet may be to pick up the flowers yourself, so give yourself some extra time and shop early!

The National Retail Federation, or NRF, estimates Valentine's Day spending will reach $17.6 billion, which is more than Americans have spent on the holiday in the last ten years.

Shelley Vanderhorst, owner of Green Bench Flowers says she's noticing that people are more willing to splurge this year on flowers because they're tired of not celebrating the holiday.

She tells 10 News she had to order an additional truck load of long stem roses because the demand is so high.

The NRF also estimates the average person celebrating the holiday will spend about $126.03 and they're not just spending on their significant other.

The NRF survey shows we'll also shell out money on our children, family, friends and even our pets!

While spending is up, people are more cautious about how they're spending.  37% of Valentine's Day shoppers will shop at a discount store, according to the NRF while 33.6% will shop at a department store.

Curious about what all that money is being spent on?  Here's the rundown from NRF:

Jewelry:  $4.1 billion (up from $3.5 billion last year)

Special Evening Out:  $3.5 billion

Flowers:  $1.8 billion

Candy:  $1.5 billion

Clothing:  $1.4 billion

Gift Cards:  $1.1 billion
