Portland, OR (CNN) - Thank goodness for protective glass.
This lion at the Oregon Zoo in Portland clearly wanted to get at the little boy who was sitting outside the exhibit.

The child barely noticed what was happening but something about him sure got the animal's attention.
Zoo workers say lions often interact with young visitors and the glass barrier keeps them safe.
