A chance of rain will be with us over the next several days.

On Thursday,  a weak cold front moves through late in the day beginning a pattern shift that turns our winds to the NE.  That will dry us out a bit, dropping rain chances to 20% over the weekend. The breeze will also pick up as the high behind the front combines with low pressure north of the Bahamas.

Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Heat index values as high as 97. Northwest wind between 5 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Thursday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 75. North wind between 3 and 10 mph.

Friday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. Northeast wind between 5 and 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Friday Night: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. East northeast wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
