BOLIVAR, Pa. (AP) -- A western Pennsylvania man faces a preliminary hearing on charges he threatened to chop off his live-in girlfriend's head with a machete after damaging furniture with the weapon in a drunken rage.
Online court records don't list an attorney for 41-year-old Andrew Baird, of Bolivar, who was arrested by state police about 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Police didn't announce the arrest until Wednesday.
Police say Baird became combative after drinking a bottle of whiskey and began chopping dishes and furniture with the steel machete before he allegedly grabbed the woman by the face and held the machete to her cheek saying, "I would love to chop your head off."
Baird doesn't have a phone listed in his name.
He faces a July 6 hearing on charges of terroristic threats and harassment.
